About Media Sac

Media Sac for Media and Development is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization, officially registered under license No. (686) for the year 2018, issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. The organization is led by a women-driven team and adopts a holistic approach to empowering vulnerable groups—particularly women and youth—through developmental media and community advocacy.

Media Sac has worked across various sectors, including media, peacebuilding, socio-economic empowerment, and sustainable development. The organization places a particular focus on women’s issues and strengthening their role in decision-making and local peacebuilding processes.

Media Sac Mission

We strive to empower individuals and communities through the production of purposeful media content, the promotion of community awareness, and advocacy for development and social justice – with a particular focus on the empowerment of women and youth, and the advancement of peacebuilding in Yemen.

Media Sac Objectives

  • Promote media awareness by disseminating knowledge on development and social justice issues through various media platforms.
  • Empower women and youth by providing opportunities and resources to enhance their leadership and media skills and support their participation in decision-making processes.
  • Advocate for community issues through media to influence the adoption of inclusive social and development policies that support marginalized groups.
  • Promote peace and community reconciliation by fostering a culture of dialogue and tolerance among the diverse components of Yemeni society.
  • Monitor human rights and document violations related to individual freedoms, while strengthening advocacy for women’s rights and justice.
  • Support developmental media by producing content that promotes sustainable development issues in areas such as education, health, and equality.
  • Strengthen community partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organizations to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  • Highlight issues of social justice and raise awareness of the challenges facing disadvantaged groups and the importance of gender equality.
